Chrome, Brave, Edge and Arc · 629 KiB · No tracking

Based on the YouTube Redesign concept by Juxtopposed (Figma file).

Reframe's Home page: a sidebar with Home, Explore, Shorts, TV Mode, Watch Later and Collections, topic chips along the top and a roomy grid of large video thumbnails. Reframe's watch page: a big player, with tabs for Suggestions, Transcripts and Live chat on the right and the title and channel under the player. Reframe's Subscriptions timeline: uploads grouped under the day they appeared, starting with Today, below the View as, type, sort and date-range controls. Reframe's TV Mode: the selected video fills a dark full-screen backdrop with its title and a Play button, above a Music shelf of large thumbnails.

Reframe at a glance

No ratings or reviews yet. It's new, so these are the facts instead.

Three steps. No sign-up.

  1. Add to Chrome

It's free from the Chrome Web Store, and it works in Chrome, Brave, Edge and Arc.

  2. Open YouTube

It's your own account, with the same subscriptions, recommendations and history.

  3. Make it yours

Every feature has its own toggle in the popup. You can switch the whole redesign off in one click.

These are things YouTube doesn't do at all, starting with the big one.

Only in Reframe · Layouts

Sidebar open, folded or gone.

Keep the full sidebar, fold it into an icon rail or hide it, so the feed gets the room. On the watch page, Focus leaves only the player.

Home with the sidebar open: Home, Explore, Shorts, TV Mode, History, Watch Later, Liked Videos, Playlists, Collections and Subscriptions beside the video grid. Home with the sidebar collapsed to a narrow icon rail, so the video grid is wider. Home with the sidebar hidden, leaving only the topic chips and a full-width grid of videos.
The watch page with the sidebar open, a big player and the Suggestions, Transcripts and Live chat tabs on the right. The watch page with the sidebar folded to an icon rail, which gives the player and suggestions more width. Focus: the player alone, filling the page, with the sidebar, suggestions and comments hidden.
The Subscriptions timeline with the sidebar open. The Subscriptions timeline with the sidebar hidden, so the day groups use the full width.

Choose Auto or 1 to 6 videos per row in the popup, under Feeds. The change applies live, with no reload.

The popup's Video columns slider, set from Auto to 6.
Home set to three columns: three large thumbnails per row. Home with columns on Auto: four thumbnails per row at this width. Home set to six columns: six smaller thumbnails per row, with the sidebar as an icon rail.

Only in Reframe · Views

Grid or list, on every page.

Use a grid when you're browsing and a list when you're reading titles. You can switch views in search, playlists (Watch Later included), channel videos, subscriptions and the playlists library.

Read results as a list, or scan them as a grid. Type, date, duration and feature filters stay in view.

Search results for 'product design' as a list, with the All, Unwatched, Watched, Type, Upload date, Duration and Features filters and a grid/list toggle above. The same search as a grid of thumbnails, with a Shorts shelf below and the filters still visible.

Every playlist gets a grid and a list. Watch Later gets them too, along with a sort menu and filters (see the Watch Later tab).

A playlist as a grid of thumbnails under the playlist header, with Sort by, the grid/list toggle and playlist search above. The same playlist as a list: one row per video with its thumbnail, title, views and age.

Look through a creator's back catalogue in a grid, or as a list sorted by Latest, Popular or Oldest.

Juxtopposed's channel in Reframe with the Videos tab as a grid, under Latest, Popular and Oldest sorts and a grid/list toggle. The same channel's videos as a list of wide rows.

Only in Reframe · Subscriptions

Subscriptions, organised.

See a timeline grouped by day (Today, Yesterday, Sunday and so on), uploads by channel, or a classic feed.

Collections group your creators, show new-video counts in the sidebar, and export or import as a file.

In Case You Missed shows unwatched uploads from your subscriptions on Home.

Timeline: uploads in a grid under the heading 'Today – Oct 29, 2026', then 'Yesterday', with View as, All, Videos, Posts, Live, Shorts, Sort and Date range controls above. Timeline as a list: one row per upload under each day heading, with a red timeline line down the left. By channel: each channel's name with its recent uploads beside it and a Subscribed button. Classic feed: a plain grid of recent uploads from every subscription, newest first. The View as menu open on Subscriptions, offering Timeline, Channels and Feed.

Watch Later, supercharged.

YouTube offers only a couple of orders. Reframe adds a sort menu with seven, plus grid and list. Watch Later also gets a Filters panel and lets you select and remove videos in a batch.

  1. 1Playlist order
  2. 2Most popular
  3. 3Newest uploads
  4. 4Oldest uploads
  5. 5Shortest
  6. 6Longest
  7. 7Title A–Z
A playlist's Sort by menu open, listing Playlist order, Most popular, Newest uploads, Oldest uploads, Shortest, Longest and Title (A–Z), over a grid of videos.
The real sort menu, open. We captured a public playlist, which has the same toolbar as Watch Later.

Small touches that add up.

Part two

YouTube has it.
Reframe does it better.

It's the same pages, made calmer and roomier: Home, Watch, Search, Channel, Playlist and Explore.

Signed out

Signed out, YouTube shows nothing. Reframe still gives you topics.

With history off, YouTube's Home is an empty page. Reframe fills it with topic chips and a full feed, so there is always something to watch.
